Name: PROFESSOR OMOBOLA ADERIBIGBE KOMOLAFE
I joined the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology in 2009 as a Lecturer II and obtained my PhD in 2012. Also in 2012 ,I received an award and scholarship for Female Academic Staff New York and Tertiary Education Trust Fund. In 2013/2014, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Optics and Imaging Center, UKZN, South Africa, where I was selected as an adjudicator for the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists in KwaZulu-Natal Province, SA.
I was the first female indigenous Acting Head of Department from 2021 to 2022. In 2020, I became the first female professor of Anatomy at O.A.U. I have over 60 published articles in reputable journals.
I am an internal and external assessor, a member of many professional bodies, a reviewer for many reputable journals, and a fellow of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria.
My research interest is in cardiovascular anatomy and ethnomedicinal plants.
I have skills in Histochemistry, Tissue Culture and Microscopy Techniques.
