Professor Ofusori is a respected academic, researcher, and intellectual whose work spans teaching, scholarship, and community engagement. Known for his clarity of thought and commitment to academic excellence.

Professor Ofusori’s research interests include Gastrointestinal Anatomy/Wound healing; most of his over eighty publications were published in reputable international journals. Professor Ofusori remains passionate about learning, teaching, and research, and continues to inspire students and colleagues through intellectual integrity, professionalism, and dedication to excellence.

With extensive experience in higher education, Professor Ofusori has contributed meaningfully to curriculum development, student mentorship, and scholarly discourse within his field. He was at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa shortly after he completed his Ph.D degree for a training in Electron Microscopy, Confocal/Fluorescent microscopy, Bio-Plex Multiplex immunoassay & PCR procedures. He got a two years scholarship in the same University in Durban, South Africa for a postdoctoral training during which he was involved in the training of Medical and Postgraduate students.

In 2016, Prof. Ofusori received a merit award in recognition of his contribution to the field of Basic Medical Sciences in Nigeria

He is a visiting Professor to so many Universities and have examined many B.Sc/M.Sc/Ph.d students in and out of the country. He has also been an external examiner to many medical schools within and outside the country. He is an editor to so many journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Medicine, Nigerian Journal of Health Sciences etc. He is a reviewer to many journals in and out of the country. He teaches the Medical, Dental, Nursing, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, Medical Rehabilitation and Postgraduate (M.Sc, MPhil &Ph.D) students.

He is a member of Anatomical Society of Nigeria, Anatomical Society of Southern Africa, and Microscopic Society of Southern Africa among many others. He and some researchers at the Obafemi Awolowo University recently won a multimillion nairaTetfund research grant to study: Molecular and Immunohisto-chemical Characterization of Some Cancers in South-western Nigeria: The role of infectious and Human Leucocytes Antigens. This research when completed, is expected to rekindle the hope of people living with cancer in Nigeria.

Prof. Ofusori rose through the ranks and became a Professor of Anatomy at the age of 40 which is the first of its kind in the history of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.He was the former Ag. Head of the Department (2022-2023) and currently, the Head of Department of department (2023 – To date).He is a Fellow of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria (FASN).
